KLIUC Unity Run 2010

1st August, 2010

Very often during my runs, I'll come across runners stopped in between run to snap a picture of their liking along the running route. So, I thought I will give it a try. I had my 1st experience today and it was quite fun to stop and snap pictures, store and review it at the end of the day. A good break from the forward plodding and a camera can make a good companion too especially when my running partner (Herman-in this case) again left me behind to chase after his PB!! Boohoo...

Everything went on smoothly without a hitch from when we left home to the 45minutes drive to KLIUC. I even had a couple hours of good sleep and the nice cooling weather awaiting us in the morning.

We had to hold on tight to each other as there was a strong wind (typhoon) coming from the east.

**Just kidding about the typhoon. I made that up**

The one and only water station.

An example of many curve roads and gentle slopes but still can be tough for 1st time runners but then it's nothing compared to the meru hills!

Nice big shady trees along the route and I love it. Gives me a feeling of being one with nature, so peaceful, cool and calming effect and good for long runs too.

More greenery. To the guy looking behind **Whataya looking at?**

The roundabout. We took the 3 o'clock turn leading to the campus. Not very far now to finish. Happy :)

The final loop after touring the whole 2km on campus ground. By now I know the campus like the back of my hands. Quite big!

About 300 metres to finish line, a petite malay girl urged me to "lari, lari", I got 24 she said and showed me her medal. Ah...that gave me the booster!! Guess what position I got?

Herman - Junior men veteran - 41th position

Me - Women open category - 36th position. Taking into account that I didn't run much and still play play with my camera, I am happy  to get it. My aim was to get a finisher medal. Totally surprised and unexpected :) Nice eh??

The front side of the medal.
All categories have 1st to 50th medals with position engraved on it. The rest are finisher medals.

I am very happy. What a beautiful outing. Yeay!!!

Cheers!
